Maggie Charnley, SCCoop Director

Lou ably project managed a community-focussed, HLF-funded project for SCCoop. He brought superb organisational skills, together with adept financial management, which gave the Board full confidence in his activities – noting that the project value was of a similar magnitude to the turnover of SCCoop. Lou managed multiple contributions from five community partner organisations and ensured that risks were identified, escalated and mitigated. This ensured that we were able to deliver a successful renovation of a much-loved garden, despite unforeseen expenditure and delivery hurdles. Even after the end of his employment, Lou showed dedication to the project, ensuring that the Board was fully engaged with the evaluation process and that there was clear reporting of lessons learned. Lou also showed great flexibility when a core member of staff left at short notice, stepping in to provide additional support to the Board, reporting regularly and ensuring continuity at a time when we were facing a substantial change in management contract terms and budget. Lou’s interactions with the Board were deeply professional, focussed on matters of greatest concern to ensure best use of time, and always presented with a clear plan and next steps. He is also a genuinely lovely person and I have enjoyed working together to deliver such an exciting project.

Mark Patchett, MPCS Director

Lou’s ability to think strategically whilst also producing detailed operational data and plans for the development of forecasting and business plans is a rare but vital skill, which he has ably applied to different projects over the past few years. Lou responds quickly to the team’s and clients’ needs and always produces high quality work, such that nfp will remain at the top of my list for appropriate future projects.
